I am not aware of anyone on this forum who has heard back in relation to north applications. I too, am holding out for Perth. The process is still ongoing just now.

Isn't that split into the following:

1 day for stage 1 assessment
1 dat for DM interview
1 day for stage 2 assessment?

regards,
Darryl

Hi Daryll. Yes I believe that's how it is hence potentially needing to take 3 days holiday from work. Although the stage 1 assessment only lasted around 2.5 hours.

Yes I took 3 days holiday from work for my assessments and interviews with FLHH, although I could have got away with only 1 full day and two half days. as the DM interview only lasted 20 minutes (and from what I heard that was a long interview), as they only wanted to know the basics, as all the competancy questions had been asked and quizzed at the stage 2 assessment.

my DM interview with Northern Rail lasted over an hour, but they asked questions about competancy etc, as they did the interview before the assessments.

regards

Just a couple of quick questions.

Has anyone who applied for the Glasgow Central around 24th September recieved any response yet??

If so how did you recieve it via email or phone? Also if by email was it the same email address that confirmed your application recruitment@scotrail.co.uk? If not what was it?

Just paniking that I've missed an email that may have went into my Junk email

Cheers

I applied around that date with what I thought was a very strong application but I've heard nothing at all

You'd need to factor in time off for a medical too if successful.

Where have the tests been carried out, and where are the manager interviews? I assumed the later would be at the depots.

That is true. My FLHH medical lasted over 2 hours and I was connected upto an ecg? Monitor.

The person doing the medical said that they don't know my FLHH asked for that as the passenger companies don't (well the companies who use the medical centre I was at)

Darryl

Hi all, I applied for the Edinburgh/Bathgate/Tweedbank plus the Perth/Stirling etc ones about 3/4 weeks ago, has anyone else heard anything back from these ones? I didn't see the "successful applicants will be contacted 4-6 weeks" until now, I can't say I'm feeling terribly hopeful... :(

I applied for Tweedbank but haven't received any response! Am hoping their doing this depo last as its the furthest away on their line.

Just received a e-mail from Scotrail...

'Due to a change in circumstances on the recruitment programme for train driver, the following locations are on hold in the meantime:

Glasgow Queen Street
Stirling
Gourock
Inverness
Wick
Kyle of Lochalsh
Aberdeen
Dumfries
Stranraer
Dundee'

Obviously due to the amount of drivers they can train at one time.

Not entirely sure what that means !! Does that mean there's hope for any applicants that have not heard a single thing yet ??

I would assume if the only location(s) you applied for are on this list then its not good news. If you applied for multiple locations and any of them are NOT included in the list then you're still in with a shout for those.

Damsomedan......well given they have replied to you it clearly means that if and when they continue with the listed depots, you are in the running!

I think a few of those locations were never advertised in the first place on the public website. I don't remember queen St or kyle being advertised, though don't have the original list to hand.

They may all, I don't know, have been advertised as in the internal recruitment campaign for existing sr staff. I'd imagine central belt depots are a priority, again only a hunch, not an informed statement.

I read it as dont call us we'll call you. On hold usually means at least 6 months.

First thing I've heard.

At least they have told you something!! My hopes of getting anywhere with this application have dropped considerably :(

There is a waiting list about a mile long for internal moves to Queen Street depot...I've heard of guys waiting 5 or 6 years before they get a move there. An in demand depot for some reason.

Only 1 vacancy at Stranraer and it was only advertised internally. No idea about the other depots as he buffers At Central is as far North of the clyde as I go.

A question to anybody who has done the 1st part of the assessment. Was GBT part of it or was it SCAAT? I have paractised both just to keep the old grey matter sharp and its my understanding that on the day it will be GBT.

Good luck to those who have interviews this week. I've mine too, first experience at it so not sure what to research. I've been searching through the forums but wondering how much the process has changed since April and Abellio.

Good luck pinontheright. Which area is your interview for if you mind me asking. Passed assessment day a week or so ago and waiting for my interview date email now. (Applied to east).
