Hi Jen, I applied on 14th Sept. It was just the written parts of the test we had to do on Thurs but the next part will be the managers interview. I thought it would be the computer part of the test. We were told our results the next day but warned it could be a couple weeks till we find out when the next stage will actually be.

Thanks for the info DanDan, that's really helpful. I applied on the 25th for east, and expect my application was approx halfway in the pile so imagine a little longer wait for hopefully some contact! Best of luck to you with your next part of the application.

Jen

How is it that you haven't heard back, but you've done the assessments? O_o

I'm in the same boat as you, except I applied on the 28th of September for Glasgow Central.

I'll keep you posted if anything changes. Could you do the same for me? :)

No probs, will keep you updated if I hear anything.

It seems like the team at the assessment centre are on the ball. I only finished my assessment less than 3 hours ago and I've already been e mailed my results.

I submitted mine for Glasgow on 22 September - Definitely thought I'd have heard something by now - think it's the end of the road for me

Morning all,

Has anyone heard anything back about the North Vacancies? I believe these included Stirling, Inverness, Aberdeen and Perth? And if so were you an internal or external app?

Thanks

At a pure guess, they may be doing central belt depots first as the EGIP project and introduction of new electric hitacvhi trains means sr will need these new drivers productive to help release all current drivers for the new traction training.

As I say, pure guess and NOT and informed source.

I'm pretty sure everyone at the assessment day yesterday had applied for Glasgow West.

At the Assessment centre yesterday they specifically mentioned that we were there for the Yoker & Motherwell depots....she then hesitated, stopped then looked at a bit of paper & said yeah you guys are down as Yoker & Motherwell.

Bit strange as I never even seen Motherwell on the job advert so my nearest depots that I applied for were GLA CEN & Yoker.

Out of the 20 odd folk who were there on Monday 2 of them were from Bellshill, 1 Newarthill, 1 Carfin & 1 Larkhall, that I knew of......

She also mentioned that candidates who were in last week were for Ayr. She also said they still have tons of applications to go thru so to the ones who still havent heard.....dont give up hope so quickly....

I didn't see Motherwell either. I've applied for Helensburgh but I didn't bother mentioning anything when she starting naming depots

Hi, was wondering if your application was internal or external. I applied internally for several locations as i was within distance for them. I recieved notification of progressing to the assessment stage but it doesn't state which location it relates too. I assume unless i progress further then it doesn't matter till then.

Im external mate. This whole 'choose your depot' seems a bit nuts to me, would be a lot more sensible & logical from them if they simply allocated you to depots via your postcode taken off your application form.......but I'd guess that the original 'sift' of applications takes what depot(s) you have asked for into account and that whittles the numbers down. Probably alot more easier (for them) to eliminate applications using a slightly strange method or maybe they still have Windows 92 software on their computers?? Who knows??? Im just glad to be there

That wouldn't work, as what as if people want to move area, or if people who live more than 45 mins away want to move?

For example I live near Leeds/York but I would move.

Yes it probably would work but If you applied and lived far away and was prepared to relocate then thats different, the job advert clearly states you will be *required* to live no further than 45mins away etc etc.........the TOC could be arsey with you if they really wanted too regarding relocating, its totally at their discretion

I would imagine there will be existing drivers at Scotrail putting in for transfers whilst there are vacancies present.. This maybe is the reason they are mentioning different depots at the assesment stage.
