I mean 3000 people applied back in march for a job that could set you up for life. If you were to think any stage of the recruitment process is a formality or easy then you’ve got 2,999 people at an advantage. I believe you can be relaxed and not feel the pressure if you have prepared fully and fully appreciate the expectations of the process, not doing that is no fault of the interviewer.

Totally depends how quick you get through things and a lot of that is stuff you don't have control over. For example driving instructor availability, how many other trainees at your depot, getting places on the courses you need to do once you're out with your instructor, holidays (you and your DI), sickness (again you and DI) etc. The minimum driving hours you can pass out at is 263 and driving days is 70 but from what I've heard that would be unusually low, like if you just had one route and one traction.

I have budgeted for at least 18 months on the trainee rate.

There's 2 links at Glasgow Central. Link 1 is the bigger link and does purely electric work. Link 2 is slightly smaller and does a mix of electric and diesel work.

Not sure on their earliest or latest finish but they don't currently have a night shift turn.

I would say treat it as you have treated every test and interview. Prepare well use STAR and give yourself the best opportunity of passing. Don’t fall at the last hurdle thinking it’s just a formality. You’ve got this

the RSSB has a link on medical requirements to become a train driver ( this is not strictly scotrails and their medical may be more relaxed unsure if SR’s the same or more stringent )

Hi, I had my DMI on 5th November and got an email on 11th saying I had passed. I think that is it, passed my MMI in October.
I am waiting on a date for a medical but nothing yet. Emailed Alex last week but no reply. Frustrating that there is no updates/ timescales to plan ahead, such a long process.

i think were looking at next year for any type of medical as the email in november said 26/27 classes have yet to be finalised by management

its strange that people on the forums are saying that there is a wait into 2027 , they did say at my computerised tests in november that if MMI was successful a medical & start date ( for next year ) was on the cards but thought it was unrealistic because most parts of the process have been slow up until now , guess we just need to play the dreaded waiting game again

Thanks ,yeah i done my DMI first then MMI , ive heard people have done them the other way round , both my interviews werent too intense i would say the DMI was a bit more difficult just glad the testing is all done!
