Hi all, I'm new to this forum, thought it would be a good place to start here!

I recently applied for the position of Trainee Train Driver with Scotrail working out of Glasgow Central Station. I passed both online assessments and the telephone interview and am booked in for the Test Center on the 3rd of June. I've been sifting through some threads on here but most are from drivers from 2009 and just wondering what changes have been made to the tests. I already know I will have to take a Group Bourdon (dots) Test, Concentration Tests, Mechanical Comprehension Test and a structured interview all on the same day. Just looking for a bit more info from anyone who has sat these tests/interview recently and any websites I could visit to get the practise in!

I went to the local library and printed out several dots tests and seemed to perform well on them (whilst timing myself, 2mins per page), I missed a few but didn't lose concentration and kept going strong until the end.I also printed out a few pages of the letter Q whilst trying to find the letter O in amongst them, again missed a few but only 2 or 3 on each page, still finished them under test conditions. Also a page of different letters whilst trying to find capital U's and small v's at the same time, again completed them but missed 1 or 2. I've printed out an example paper of the short term memory test and nailed it 100% under test conditions. Completed a guage test where I had to identify what guages should be checked in what order, again 100% correct. Been working on an online game to do with reaction speeds where my average reaction time was 0.435s. I've wrote out examples of leadership, customer service and problem solving that I may have to tell the interviewers about.

Is there any other websites or things I could do to try improve all of the above? And could anybody tell me what specific questions I may be asked during said interview(and any materials I could study)

It would be great to hear from anyone who has recently underwent this process and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Mark.

Ps sorr

Not sure if I've misinterpreted my e-mail but according to the one I got there are 3 tests on this 1st stage,

- Group Bourdon
- Trainability for Rules and Procedures Parts 1 and 2
- Test of Everyday Attention (Tea-occ)

There's no mention of an interview. I thought that was on the 2nd stage of testing prior to any DM interview. Anyone the same??

If your successful doing all the tests you will have an interview that day which will be your first of potentially two interviews if all things go well, the 2nd interview will be on a later date. An interview is mentioned in the practice material
