ScotRail Tap & Pay vs Roundabout

If you travel exclusively in the SPT Roundabout ticket zone on ScotRail using the ScotRail 'Tap & Pay' app, will a day of travelling be capped at the Roundabout price of £7.70?

Not directly relevant to the above question, but I really wish someone would knock some heads together, so:

A) you can load a roundabout ticket onto a smart card at ticket vending machines, so you have a ticket that works on the Subway too, without having to go to a Subway ticket office to get a separate paper smart card!

B) buy roundabout ticket in the ScotRail app as an m-ticket (The argument used to be this didn't work on the Subway, but neither do paper roundabout tickets) or to load to smart card via the app.

I can somewhat belatedly confirm that Tap & Pay does not cap at the Roundabout rate. I did email ScotRail about this and suggest that they either included such a cap, or mentioned on the website that a Roundabout could be better value, but they seem to have dismissed both if these.

I like your suggestions, but even though the ticket media is the same, I can't think of an easy way to fulfil a National Rail ticket and an SPT ticket onto a smartcard in the one transaction. And if it were an mTicket, there would need to be a way for the Subway ticket office to check whether you'd already claimed your day ticket.

It is a particularly customer-unfriendly product, though. I bought mine from the ScotRail counter at Partick, then took a step to the right to the Subway counter, who stamped my ticket with 'Car Park', and gave me a separate Subway ticket. Oh, and the rail part doesn't work in the ticket gates at Central.

Was it the high level platforms? I've used a roundabout ticket from vending machines marked 'Glasgow Queen Street to Roundabout' without issue on the Central Low Level barriers and at Exhibition without any issues.
