Hi, can anyone advise what happens in

I have a Scotrail Flexi Ticket for Cathcart- Central.

In the past with a paper Cathcart-Central return tkcket, it would sometimes be quicker to get the train home to langside instead of waiting on Neilston train.

What would happen if I used my smartcard for a Central - Langside journey? As I can tap it to get through gate at Central, then tap off at langside but there is no barrier that wouldn't stop me from exiting the station. Would it just use one journey from my Flexi pass?

Thanks

There is a pval i think, but as its not Cathcart I dont think it would work
Having done this for the same stations myself, I can confirm the validator at Langside (and presumably any other station), will not validate the smart card. However, I contacted Scotrail asking the same question as you a few years ago and was told there was nothing to worry about, and that not tapping out at the expected station would not result in any penalties

However doing the journey in reverse could result in a single being charged on the train as your inability to tap in would mean that no valid ticket was held at the time of travelling.
