It's very difficult to find bargain berths on the Inverness run. You ned to start looking as soon as bookings open.

I think bookings usually open on a Friday. When we went from Inverness to London in October last year I was checking Scotrail's website every day from early July!

Still couldn't get the very cheapest fare, but was happy with what we paid.

I'd quite like to know the answer to this as well. I'm pretty sure the Bargain Berths are updated on Fridays, but it would be helpful to know the exact time!

It has come up on a thread before as to whether they are valid from Crewe / Preston, and someone posted that they weren't, after they emailed ScotRail.

However, I have used a FlexiPass from Preston on three separate occasions without problem, and this clearly says London Terminals on the ticket.

I'm afraid I can't say exactly what time the bookings open. I usually checked during my lunch period! Perhaps if i had been able to check at 9am, during my employers time, I might have got a cheaper fare!
