With the 20% discount on Scotrail Season Tickets coming to an end shortly, I was looking to see what the new prices of season tickets would be.

But the Scotrail App will not show any season ticket options bar flexipasses after Tues 19th August.

Any ideas as to why this is? Is it because Scotrail/ Transport Scotland haven't worked out what they are doing yet or is this normal and you don't get to see prices for seasons more than a month or so in advance?

For most TOCs, unless you're buying a Season ticket to be loaded onto a Smartcard you can only buy a ticket the day before it's due to start (a week before where there's no break in validity for a renewal.)

Where it's being issued on Smartcard, it's generally possible to buy a ticket up to 30 days in advance, so you're probably slightly too early.

I’m wondering the same. I think the discount ends on 27th September.

Peak fares are being scrapped on September 1. Without peak fares, the old season ticket prices will be poor value for money unless you travel a lot more than the standard 2 journeys per weekday.

Remains to be seen if ScotRail will introduce cheaper seasons, or simply expect passengers to buy returns (or singles) instead. I’d put my money on the latter.

Checked again tonight. Can now see season ticket options until Fri 22nd August. So it looks like it is a 28 day limit thingy.
