Without knowing your full itinerary it's difficult to say. Inverness to Aberdeen is not included though, and the route will soon be blocked off for engineering works until September. I'm looking at doing a trip around Scotland in June, but wrote this ticket off as I feel the other rovers will benefit me more.

This ticket is to do the 'Skye Circular' and is one of my favourite rail trips.

Start at Glasgow or Edinburgh and go to Inverness on the Highland Mainline. Spend the night in Inverness
Take the train to Kyle of Lochalsh
Then the bus to Armadale on the Isle of Skye (bus fare not included, do check the bus timetable very carefully as the timetable changes around the school holidays)
Ferry from Armadale to Mallaig
Train from Mallaig back to Glasgow or Edinburgh

It's possible to do the journey from Inverness to Glasgow/Edinburgh in one day although you might want to stop off on Skye and/or Mallaig or Fort William (or even Corrour!)

This is also nicely bookended by the sleeper if you're coming from the south. Adds something to the experience I think.
