I would expect this unit to look very much like the Bus which First have done with Homecoming livery. Buses in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen have had it applied.

Yeah, I saw Port Glasgow a while back (I forgot to post here, though :() and Bishopton as well. I've also added Partick to the list.

They are fairly getting through them, even if they aint gettin through the units! Partick irritates me, they have got different fonts on the platform to around the rest of the place! However the building at Partick is very impressive, a huge improvement to before!

Yes, it is amazing! A fantastic facility. It already provided a wealth of travel opportunities, but it was frankly a dump. It's now fit to serve its purpose.

My only quibble is that they've not put in more ticket offices and not (as far as I know) installed a machine (of course, this could be in the pipeline). I'm also surprised (although not particularly disapointed!) that they've not installed barriers.

Nope, was at Partick the other day and they still haven't installed a second STAR machine in the accessible window.

I think a new STAR machine will be installed as will TVMs in the waiting shelters.

It officially opens the end of the month, wonder if they will notice they have done the platform signs wrong.

Is it not because they feel the need to put "Partaig" up as well as "Partick"? Because, of course, residents of Coatbridge, Hamilton, Motherwell, Dalmuir, Drumchapel and so on speak a lot of Gaelic...

There is a Gaelic community in Partick though. ;)

So is there any trains in now getting re-painted? They seem to be getting this done fairly quickly (I believe there's like 3 156s complete already) compaired to what I exptected.

Yeah, I'm not so sure about Hamilton or Motherwell. Trust me, not a lot of Hamiltons speak anything other than Ned language.

My guess is that stations in the Highland and major scottish stations will get gaelic on signs, no others, especially in strathclyde, for that reason, Motherwell will possibly, however Hamilton I dont think will.

There is another 156 in getting repainted as we speak, however I have noticed that the vinals are on a blue background already, unlike the 170s. This looks very tatty!

I can see Dalreoch, Dumbarton Ctl and Dalmuir getting new signs and repaint soon, due to infrasture work, new car park (Dalreoch), resurface of platform (Dumbarton), new bridge (Dalmuir).

The your views, passenger charter etc also seem to have the half X displayed in the wrong area.

On a side note, has anyone seen First Insight for April yet, its not online or on train on tuesday.

Yeah, the red one with the violinist on the front of it?

Would be good if they do the rest of the Balloch branch over the next two days, with the blockade on the Balloch branch and all...

Dont know if Balloch and Renton will be done, would be surprised if they were. Will go across and check later.

Updated.

Visited Balloch in early February to do a bit of walking around Loch Lomond and felt to myself that it needed the treatment soon as the lamp posts and signs were starting to look scruffy, although I wouldn't mind seeing it being given new carmine/cream colours (unlikely to happen I know). Seemed to suit the station I thought.

Not as far as Im aware. I would expect most of the work initially to be focused on the electric routes, with emphasis on the Helensburgh-Drumgelloch/Bathgate-Edinburgh.

Also as a side note, Firstinsight has now gone bi-monthly, obviously in a bid to cut costs.

How much would you save from making an A3 magazine half as often? :|

As for stations, they've been focussing on the SPT area and E-G routes, mostly because E-G the key route, and SPT is completely outdated. The furtherest North that I know of is Leuchars.

E-G hasnt been touched, station wise. They even werent under the old FSR brand.

Insight is an interesting one, I think personally a magazine is needed, but dont see it in the future. Maybe a makeover soon but nothing major, I think its a big dissapointment.

The main focus on rebranding is SPT and in particular the North Electrics (due to A-B route enhancements).

Also note only 1 main station poster, instead of 3, also Club 55.

AND the sleeper has new look menus, very very very dissapointing, bland and uninteresting. They DO NOT display the SR logo.

The catering also has new menus, which I'm sure displayed the menu.

Nothing past Croy, but Croy, Bishopbriggs and Lenzie have all been given a make-over ;) (Of course, they were SPT as well).

It's inevitable that the North Electrics will close soon, and I think they'll use that to update the stations.

Sorry by E-G I started at Falkirk. In which case it hasnt been touched.

Catering, in my opinion is now a joke! They are introducting new products which are totally overpriced and STILL display old branding!! First Class service also has deterioriated, in my experience.

I don't like that they've started using PG teabags either :( But otherwise, I don't see a decrease in catering; it never was that great and hasn't improved much from there.
