They seem to be getting stations into the new Saltire scheme before they focus on the units, although I imagine that every station needs a lick of paint now and again, so it makes sense just to get it done at that point. And it's cheaper to do 1 station than 1 train I'd imagine.

Do you want info on the stations as well?

May as well, seeing there's not much happening on the train side of things. I know Alexandria and Drumchapel are painted, but still with SPT signs. Any more?

Bishopbriggs and Lenzie are the same. Anderston has painted pillars.

Croy is fully repainted and resigned.

Possilpark & Parkhouse has a painted noticeboard but nothing else.

Allegedly unit painting to be done at Rosyth Dockyard, units driven by FSR drivers with EWS route conductors.

It's not really painting unless it's an SPT unit, as the FSR ones are just being revinyled.

Well yes...but they are also being done over the next 5 years. SPT ones are being done this coming year....! hence the chance to SPT livery on the Forth Rail Bridge for the last time, and also maybe some 158's on Glasgow suburban routes.

The SPT logos are currently being removed from the EMUs and DMUs, this should be completed by the end of this month

The Class 314 units are not going to be repainted, so will never carry the livery
The Class 318, 320, 322, and 334 units will have the SPT livery replaced over the next three years
The Class 170 units will be the last to be repainted, discussions are ongoing about this as they are not due within the time frame

The units currently carrying FSR livery will be repainted at main maintenance intervals

Discussions are still ongoing about repainting the sleeper locos and coaches, as these too are not all due within the next three years

Are the SPT 156s being done anytime soon? They're a bit grotty inside as well, and I would imagine that it's their turn for a full refresh in the not too distant future.

And, Re: 314s, I'm glad to hear that they're not being repainted (which would possibly be the biggest waste of money possible) but will they get any branding at all? When the 320s replace the 314s, will they also receive an internal refresh? The interiors of these units aren't that great to be honest.

As far as I am aware the Class 156 units have already been "refurbished", this was completed towards the end of the NatEx franchise, and there is no provision within the franchise for their further "refurbishment" however that is not to say that the RoSCo may perform their own one
I will ask about that on Tuesday when I am in Aberdeen

As for the Class 314 units, they will not be receiving any further rebranding and most certainly not any form of refurbishment
In fact things are so bad that one unit has recently been put into operational storage awaiting a decision from RoSCo, which has resulted in a Class 334 often deputising for its duties
I believe the unit is 314212, the DMSO now has no working traction motors
I also understand there is proposal that from November the units will be banned for operating in multiple with any other unit types, in order to save costs and having to replace faulty / damaged couplings

Hmmm given the demand down south for EMU's, I'd not be surprised if the ROSCO's were interested in a low cost refurb after they come off lease, especially if some of the putative services do happen.

I was just wondering if the 314s would get the Scotrail branding stuck on the sides, but I don't blame you for leaving them alone. Only got a few years left IIRC, and as much as I quite like them, they're dying.

The 156s do really need a refresh akin to the 156 refrech for Scotrail units. Repaint, and new interiors are rather badly needed. Not urgently so, they're certainly in useabe condition, but I'd have thought that they were due a refresh.

The only rebranding the Class 314 units may get is replacement of the current First logos that they still carry
As the units are going off lease and return to RoSCo, I don't have any other information other than that

The Class 156 units present a different issue
Near to the end of the current ScotRail franchise a decision will need to be made on either a life extension overhaul or a replacement DMU type
Furthermore, the West of Scotland electrification scheme should be well under way and when completed in the next franchise will see many Class 156 units released and possibly returned to RoSCo
For those reasons, the decision is likely to remain with the RoSCo

Hmm... fair point. There are definately TOCs who could use the 156s if we're putting the wires up everywhere (FGW comes to mind!), although they will be coming to the end of their life by the time we get the electrification project well underway.

First ScotRail "Registered Office" is King Street, Aberdeen
However, the day to day admin and "HQ" is still at Caledonian Chambers, Glasgow
Very little is dealt with at King Street in relation to First ScotRail, mostly inter-group management

I myself have been based at King Street for a month
I typically visit Caledonian Chambers once a week
There are also other offices across Scotland, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Larbert, Perth, Fort William, and Inverness

NatEx have now moved ScotRail Railways back to London, the Edinburgh office is now occupied by NXEC

I saw the signs being put up last Wednesday on Platform 1. Looking smart, I have to say Pretty sure that it's resigned now.
