ScotRail now introducing split ticketing

It's fairly known that ScotRail rely on the Trainline to sell train tickets online, but apparently, they now do fee-free split ticketing.
Does anyone know anything about this?

They've done this for quite a while now:

ScotRail now offers split tickets

The ScotRail trainline website and app now offers the basic split ticket functionality. Attached is a screenshot showing a single journey for now from Helensburgh Central to Dundee with a split in Glasgow.
