Nobody has any spare DMUs. Surely it'll just be the 2nd 67 coming back?

It is.

As for spare DMUs, i wrote that post above funnily enough forgetting about one TOC. South West Trains. But it is, now confirmed that the second Fife Circle 67 hauled set will be returning.

The 2nd fife 67 diagram has restarted. I was up in Scotland last week and covered the evening peak some days. 67027 did the full circle all week, while the half circle was 67017 at the start of the week, then 67021 worked it Thursday and Friday.

wish FSR would see sense and put the 67 and MK2s on an inverness or similar where they would be appreciated and cumfortable. No first class I grant you but so high qualitty that every seat is like First compared to a 170

The Fife Circle peak extras means no worrying about "running round" at a busy station or needing a loco on the back.

Actually, it could have 1st class, as one of the sets is made up of FO's. So swap one TSO for an FO, job sorted.

Another ideal job would be the summer sundays Edinburgh-Oban, but unfortunatly the Oban line is no go for the 67's and I cant see Scotrail asking DRS for a 37/4 for 1 day a week for 2 or 3 months. Nice thought though, shame it wont happen. So must make do with 2x156's on that.

I did one of these Summer Sunday Edinburgh to Oban specials last year, for a single 156, it was well used!

Not full and standing but very well used :)

There has been a diagram change at the last timetable change. The following services are now the ones worked by 67s and Mark 2s:

2K01 06:37 Edinburgh Waverley to Glenrothes With Thornton
2K18 07:36 Cardenden to Edinburgh Waverley
2G02 07:46 Glenrothes With Thornton to Edinburgh Waverley
2G13 17:08 Edinburgh Waverley to Glenrothes With Thornton
2L69 17:19 Edinburgh Waverley to Cardenden
2K14 18:15 Glenrothes With Thornton to Edinburgh Waverley

This is due to (among other things) the Fife Circle trains being split into 2 different services, although they remain worked by the same train.

It is still the same train, it is just advertised as 2 separate service now.

I wonder if that is, in part, a result of our little throw down with a couple of ScotRail guards on this service over the summer?

you may have a point there!
Scotrail certainly arnt blind to the presence of enthusiasts on that service and whilst most grips0welcome them there are a few (like that pare we encountered) who treat us with great caution or indeed hostilitty. Wonder what ticket combinations are now requiree for the full circle to be done? Appologies for going off topic.

The Central Scotland Rover is the best ticket if you're up there for a few days. 3 in 7 for just £34.90 full fare. Covers the Fife circle, Dunblane, Alloa, Newcraighall, N Berwick and Glas-Edin via Falkirk or Bathgate.
£11.63 a day for travel in that area and doing the 67 on the evening run - absolute bargain.
