ScotRail - Gateline Assistant

Hi All

Is there anyone here who currently works as a Gateline Assistant with ScotRail who could shed any light on what the job is like?

I'm in the process of applying for the role with ScotRail and am just looking for any information.

You're basically controlling the flow of human traffic if it's a busy station, checking tickets and providing route info. I have applied for a position although I don't know why stations like Edinburgh Park only require drug testing while Waverley and Haymarket require you to pass more thorough tests.

Presumably because they are busier. What I'd like to know is what test is used!?
