Scotrail - Evening Timetable

Post Covid Scotrail reduced the evening timetable on many lines
e.g. Paisley Canal went Hourly 7pm-10pm
Glasgow to Barrhead /Kilmarnock was reduced.
There will be others too

Do we know if there are any plans to reinstate these back to pre-Covid levels as Hourly to stations in or near Glasgow area is pretty poor

No plans currently.

And unlikely to change unless someone (like SPT) fund any more services - the Scotrail Trains board had discussions last year with Transport Scotland to the effect that the timetable that we currently have is now classed as the 'base timetable', so anything that used to exist in the past would now be put through as new service proposals.

This could be considered a question under the evening timetable thread.

Does anybody know why 1N79 (1911 Glasgow Queen Street - Dundee) is unusual in the fact it serves Falkirk, Linlithgow and Fife and not Stirling & Perth? Is it for diversion retention?

Yes both 1N79 and 1N80 (in the opposite direction) serve as route retention for the Winchburgh-Dalmeny branch
