Scotrail Driver Assesment...advice please!

Hi folks,

Got the good news that I’ve been shortlisted for the trainee drivers job in Glasgow/Yoker/Motherwell etc. So I’ve now to sit the assesment & have my date etc.

Obviously there is the content that is sent out for me to go over, but I was hoping that there might be some qualified drivers or others on here who have gone through this before who might be able to offer some advice of what to expect & some handy tips.

My apologies if this is posted elsewhere or in the wrong place. I’ve just been a casual observer until now.

Stage 1 tests are the written tests. So group Bourdon , TEA-Occ, TRP. Depending on the TOC you also do the DFFT.
Search these up online, you will find examples and videos on what to expect.

Stage 2 is the computerised tests. WAVF, 2 Hand co-ordination, AVAVT and SJE. Plus MMI if you pass the tests.
Again search the acronym’s and you can find more out.

My advice is to stay calm, if you stress out you will find it much harder.
