I have a few questions about my application to be a conductor based out of Stirling:

1. As a non-EU citizen, I believe it's extremely difficult for me to get the job, in spite of experience in the UK? Abellio said that they'll consider my application, but I imagine it'll be a challenge to be hired.

2. Do the Stirling crew sign the same routes as those based out of Glasgow QS, or do they have a different route card?

3. Is there any restrictions on distance from the depot? I believe other companies like Northern requires guards to live within a 45 minute commute, but I didn't see such requirements in this application.

Can anyone share their experience as a conductor on ScotRail?

In general, if you have the right to reside and work in the UK permanently, you won't be looked at any differently to any other applicant. If you don't, then for traincrew roles you'll be very lucky to be considered as with the investment that goes into training the company needs to know they'll get that back.

Don't work for ScotRail, but I'd consider it a safe bet that the route card won't be the same as Queen Street. I'd expect a lot of similarities - but you won't be signing Crianlarich/Oban for example

Done the application myself... I went in to fill in the Driver one as well and it's showing as Unsuccessful for me in the system. I don't understand. I am currently working as a conductor in England and I thought I would make a strong candidate. Anybody else on the same predicament?
