Hi folks

Looking for help if possible. I’m going to be applying for a role with ScotRail shortly and was looking for help on the online assessment section if I’m lucky to go forward. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what to revise on please. Last time I done an assessment some of the questions asked were like 24 x ? = 97 for example. The role is for train presentation

Any help would be great

Assessments may have changed recently. Like you I had to do the online tests previously (managed to pass) and they were a nightmare, however I took the tests at Atrium Court (no online one before going there) and the maths based one was primary school level, no calculator needed (or even scrap paper to work out). It was multiple choice and I think it ws maybe 30 questions and 20 minutes to do it. I went over my anwers 2 or 3 times as I had that much time to kill.
Second assessment was scenario based questions and you had to put them in order you think they would go.
My role was for Gateline but at Atrium Court, and everbody did the same tests (with the exceltion of 1 person who did 1 more test but I think he was going for a conductor role) and a few pepple were dong train presentation.
This was March this year.

Approx 7 month ago I applied for a SR gateline job and the assessment was done online. Sadly failed it and was told I’d to wait 6 months again until I could reapply.

Now I’ve been tipped about the job I’m after and need to be ready for it.

Over the past few weeks I've done the number test you describe (finding ? timed) and a scenario one, both online. After that it was a SCAAT test at Atrium Court (it's a safety critical role I'm after). I went through the practice maths test several times before I did the real thing. The practice is on the same link that they give you to do the online tests.

Did you study/revise before? I’m looking for any websites to learn it

I didn't, sorry, as I had no idea what to expect from the maths test. I just did the practice ones that were on the link to the test. Think I ran through them 4 times before doing the actual test. I'm not even sure what the need for that test is. I don't envisage a situation where I'll have to do quick fire algebra questions in any ScotRail role.

Yep, did the same thing as yourself, got the online assessment on 3 previous occassions but the last one was different. Managed to find the job description for both recent Gateline jobs I applied for. About 8 months ago and this year and it doesn't state online test on either of them but had to do a test online for one from last year but didn't for this year, hence may be different.

Check out the opc, they have some free tests that may help.
