In March I applied for an On Train Hospitality Assistant with ScotRail. The closing date was the 13th of April, it's now a month later and my online account says my application is "Awaiting Shortlisting". Just wondering if anybody knows how long I could waiting until I hear back from them? I guess it's a good sign that I haven't been rejected by now...?

They are frustratingly slow. FG are often 5 or 6 weeks.

If it was me living in Aberdeen, I would have walked into their King St HQ with a chainsaw long ago ;)

Yeah they are - I applied for a Conductor role back in Feb and mine still says "awaiting shortlisting"!

Hopefully no news is good news.

I spoke to a friend yesterday, who then got in touch with someone she knows, who works for ScotRail and used to do the Catering trolley, and he said the same, that First take ages.

I've a good feeling about this though. I know I can get it if I put my mind to it :)

They say they do for 6 months (in line with data protection), but in reality they rarely revisit unsuccessful applications, due to the sheer number they get. Just don't get downhearted and keep constantly applying as much as possible; if (unlike all other TOC websites) FirstGroup's rubbishy application system states you can't reapply for 6 months, just use a new application with different email address to get round this. (allegedly) ;)
