Im going to be bashing one of these at the weekend, and i want to know some thoughts on what people think about them in terms of comfort and other kinds of things like that, what is your opinion on them?

Scotrail 158s and 170s, what do you think?

Both fine. I always pick the 158 when they're running in 158+170 formation though.

Inverness 158s are lovely, Grammer IC3000s aligned to the windows. Haymarket ones are rubbish as they have the awful Richmond seating.
If it's the former I would go 158, if the latter 170.
If it's the former I would go 158, if the latter 170.

The class 170s in Scotland completely changed my outlook on 170s forever. Given CrossCountry and West Midlands Railway's “examples”, I never had a particularly high opinion of them. But the ScotRail 170s are fantastic, having said this, the Inverness 158s match the 170s and then some, the cummins scream along the Far North is quite a sound
