Scotrail 150s

Does anyone have an idea of how many and which Class 150s operated for Scotrail? What replaced these in Scotland, and where did they get cascaded to?

I think there were 14 and these went to ATW. They were replaced by new 170s and 158s transferred in.

150259 was one of them, they never got the '170' style Scotrail livery:

I recall 150245 being another one.

I think 150245 went from Anglia to ATW. It still retains different and blue coloured door buttons

I wouldn't be surprised if they made it further North than that during the emergency 158 withdrawal period.

When they were introduced there were 18 150s that operated in Scotland. This was gradually reduced between 1991 and 2005 as they were replaced by firstly 158s then 170s. They mostly operated Fife Circle and Bathgate services. Most, if not all, were cascaded to ATW, some via Northern rail.

Platform 5 show 150208/250/252/256/258-260/262/264/283-285 as operating for Scotrail in their 2001 Combined Volume. I'll let others check to see what other units were operated before or after 2001.

I remember getting one on the Bathgate line towards the end of their time in Scotland (by then Bathgate was nearly all cl158), and it was dreadful.

The interior was derelict, with multiple seats with ripped covers, loose cushions you name it. Presumably they knew they were giving them up and had stopped looking after them. Thankfully they would never get away with putting trains out in that state any more.

It was probably pristine on the earlier diagram.

They were always filthy when the incoming train from Bathgate formed the outgoing Dunblane.
