I was wondering if anybody could help me out. I'm making some models using a platform called Roblox, and I'm making some Schweizer MSL (Miniature Stop Light) crossings (see attachments), and I'm wondering how the logic behind these 'push button' user worked crossings works? I understand that the crossing displays red or green when the button is pushed, but I'm slightly confused. Does the crossing still activate when the aspect is not being requested, or does it just stay off? (See

This type of crossing is also called a Vamos crossing. There are two configurations. The version as described by NSEWonderer. With this version, note that the green and red road traffic lights will continue to operate until a timer elapses. The crossing then goes back to a mode where the road traffic signals are unlit. When in the unlit mode, the sounder also does not warm of approaching trains. The crossing control equipment however is still active, so it knows if there is an approaching train, or a train "in section". Whenever the road traffic lights are unlit, the button should be illuminated.
The other version operates differently. The road traffic lights normally remain lit all the time. With this version, there is no need for a user to press the button. Normally the green light shows. When an approaching train is detected, the red light shows instead and the sounder makes the siren noise. Between set hours (23:00 to 07:00 IIRC) the volume of the sounders is reduced.
With both versions, if the system detects a system fault, or mains power is lost and the back-up supply runs out of power, the system goes into dark mode. All road lights will no longer work, the sounders will not work and pressing the button will do nothing.
