Hi, I would like to ask about the electrical design and schematic of a bi-mode train. How is the electrical system designed to allow the train to safely change over between electric mode (pantograph/OHL) and diesel mode?

In particular, I’m interested in the changeover circuit and interlocking between the pantograph, HV circuit breaker/disconnector, diesel generator, and traction converter.

I’m looking for a general explanation or example schematic, rather than any proprietary documentation.

Thank you!

Nice post. I don’t have your answers but welcome to the forum - your first post I see.
