Scenic lines that are underrated

Not that I'm in any way biased, but Oxenholme-Windermere is pretty good!

If you've not visited previously, worth a visit before the eleccy masts go up in 2045 at the current rate of progress :roll:

I think the vast majority of the network has underrated scenic sections. Not necessarily long, or for that matter rural, but there is plenty to see *when you look out of the windows* Only this morning seeing ratcliffe-on-soar power station rising through the mist across Attenborough nature reserve just after dawn was delightful. Beeston to Long Eaton would definitely not be on many people's list though!

I'll add the short stretch just north of Congleton where you can see the hills of the Peak District rising in the distance.

I can relate to this, having lived in Chilwell at one point, and at another point commuting by train from Leicester to Nottingham.

For once it is a delight to agree with every single posting,except perhaps Richmond to Stratford. But if the Poster had got off at Gunnesbury I would not have dissented. The truth is our railways are a wonderful way of seeing the immensely varied landscape. When driving I used even to enjoy the heavily populated areas around Birmingham. You could imagine how beautiful the streams,hills & valleys were before houses & industry came along. What an interesting subject this is.

It really is each to their own haha, I'd take Richmond to Stratford over the Scottish Highlands everyday
