I understand that Northern are running a new service from York to Scarborough in December 2017. Does anyone know if Northern intend setting up a train crew depot at Scarborough station or they will use the same reciprocal arrangement with Transpennine Express to run this service?

At the moment, there is an arrangement in place between the two companies for running the service between Scarborough and Hull.

One thing I would say is that Northern have a depot at York, so they would probably do the lion's share of the work
However, as Harpers Tate says it's a couple of years away yet, so crewing probably hasn't been thought about in any great detail

Thank you both for your input. So much for Wikipedia, that is where I got the 2017 date from. Just wondered if Northern would contemplate setting up a base in Scarborough and if running 2 routes would justify that for early morning and late night services.
