The UK Model Shops Directory lists two shops in Scarborough - see http://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/county/North Yorkshire for details. The details were updated last year - so there is some possibility that one or other may have closed since.
They are both open to my knowledge.

The one in Scarborough, never seems to be open when it's supposed to be. I've been on holiday three times and given up even trying to go in now. One day I walked down as I'd checked the opening hours sign in the door the day before. Should have been open 10am til 2pm but when I got there about 12 o'clock there was a sign in the window saying 'gone for lunch'
I try to support the local modelshops.
The Locoshed in Whitefield is nearest to me and is brilliant and I visit regularly and can recommend it to anyone in the Manchester area. Arcade in Shaw is also very good too.
Both shops are within walking distance of the metrolink tram too.
