3rd train Mora to Stockholm

i've had to mark time in Sweden as there is engineering work on the Narvik line so cant get up until Tues night 19/9
i did want to include Inlandsbahnen but its seasonal.
If Easyjet flight is cancelled i have 2 days to get to Stockholm some how!

As of 2 Sept The Raumbanen is still beset with problems Trondheim to Dombas is now Bus replacement service and Dombas Lillehamer as well , train times keep changing though
ive had to ring VY.NO and SJ.NO To get my tickets changed , still 2 weeks to go for it to change again.
Day 1 was a Disaster
Got to Malmo Ok ,it's just down the way from Copenhagen Airport
Took 1 hr 10 min at Copenhagen all passports checked manually the old fashioned way ,even Danes & Swedes
Next train Got to Lund . Signal Failure
Every body off.
Did a shared taxi to Helsingborg
Next train up was already over full
Got as far up as Kungsbacker which is 30 mins away from Gothenburg Line closed due to Accident
Again shared Taxi got to Gothenburg 1914 pm missed all the days connections SJ don't honour those delayed tickets
Wrote off the next two days
Hotel in Gothenburg £58
New ticket Gothenburg- Stockholm £36
For next morning
So trip to Karlstad scrapped
Trip to Mora Scrapped
I felt so sorry for the Elderly people
We can adapt .No Bus Replacements No Staff to hand,Tickets for onward journeys not honoured!
This happens a lot according to locals
I wouldn't knock our Rail services in the UK
It knocks spots off Denmark Sweden

That's my Day 1 Rant over

I'm now at Trondheim about to get re arraigned 0918 to Dombas then 1323 to Andalsnes
Friday could be a problem
Andalsnes -Oslo -Bergen

Thanks very much for that, Im hoping to catch one of the two buses a day to Bodo and then pick the train up to take me down to Oslo, the bus seems to take under 6 hours and then 17 hours or so on the train Bodo to Oslo
Was on the Bus 100 Weds 20th Narvik to Fauske Left at 1625 only just met the 2202 night train to Trondheim
There's road works in all the tunnels in between after 7 pm.The coach Driver performed a miracle to get there on time
We had 10 mins to Spare
The Cabins on this train are fairly new 2 Berths.Had it to myself
The previous days Stockholm Narvik
Was also a nightmare ,delayed by 3 hrs due to Snowfall effecting points got in to Narvik at about 1530 .
Thursday 21 St Sept was spent doing Trondheim to Dombas on The Dovrebanen then Dombas to Andalsnes on The Raumbanen
Both were superb scenic breathtaking. it was traveling very slow out of Trondheim barely over 20 mph for a prolonged period, must be to do with
Recent storm damage. The best days train travel I've ever had ,OMG The scenery
Did The Flam on Saturday
Our train was running late to Myrdal but the Flam was held back to accommodate us.I Bussed it back to Voss through a 11 km long tunnel to Gundvangen, the valley is called The Naeroy.
The Ferry from Bergen to Stavanger was a bit boring really.
For me The Highlights were
Trondheim to Dombas
Dombås to Andalsnes
Myrdal to Flam
And the Galivare to Narvik section
On ny way back Monday

Get off at Fauske , those on last night's bus if you stay on you would have missed Bodo Trondheim train

As CS2447 states you need to get off of the bus in Fauske as the two buses connect with the two trains there. If you do go to Bodo you will need to stay the night and catch the midday train south to Trondheim the next day.
