Second life for the Fliegender Hamburger: the former SVT 877 went into service between Basel and Frankfurt as VT 04 000 Schnelltiebwagen Rhein-Main, after renumbering in 1947.

On may 1956, the trainset went out of service at bw Hamburg-Altona
