These are normally valid for 30 days, however during xmas there are 2 days where travel cannot be taken, (xmas and boxing day)
Is there any concessions or extensions, for example a ticket bought on the 2nd dec will expire on the 1st jan, is there an extension of 2 days on this ticket?
I think technically if you break your journey you have until midday on the 2nd jan to complete your journey right?

No, and it's the same for February.

No, see the numerous threads that have discussed this. The last day you can start your journey is the final day of validity, if you cannot complete your journey on this day you can stay overnight and resume the day after and all travel must be complete by 0429 the morning after that.

I believe this does not apply to the last day of validity for the portion with one month's validity. All travel must be completed by 0429 in the morning following the last day of validity. There is no further extension permitted if the journey cannot be completed by then, unlike the outward portion of monthly returns.

This means, for example, for the return portion of an Off-Peak Return expiring on 1st January, all travel must be completed by 0429 on 2nd January.
