Seems this old station's been restored, 400 or so meters of track laid, an engine shed built and even houses a loco!


But by who?

I've no idea, but the old line went through some stunning scenery, and Kielder viaduct looks amazing! Some lovely pics on Railbrit.

I think I saw it mentioned in a book once, but the details were sketchy. There's apparently 400 yards of track laid, featuring a platform line and loop road, and a siding to a small engine shed that contains an even smaller diesel shunter. There's a few open wagons as well.

No idea as to the reason to it's existance. Good to see a bit of the Border Counties Railway still active!

If you google "saughtree station" you will find several and various references with photographs on some. None of them were written by the owners, who read them with interest and some amusement (particularly the one that says it has been demolished).
