How much freight could be expected on an average Saturday going up the Lickey? Or through Water Orton, even? I know that there's a lot less than during the week, but how much less?

Cheers!

6E41 a class 60 currently. 60074 has been on it this week.

Oooh, excellent. Pity the weather's gone off!

Yes, well, not the greatest success! Not a single freight went up while I had my camera out. Still, first time photting on the Lickey Incline for me - it's pretty good, even for units!

Usually, Saturday freight in the Midlands dies off after 12 o'clock.

I used to do:

Saltley
Bescot
Tyseley
Rugby

Rugby was fairly good in the aftrnoon and was sometimes able to produce oddball workings, including light loco movements on and off the CE sidings and bays.

Not sure since the remodelling though.

Gone are the days of pairs of Peds top n tail on a rake of dogfish, mind you!

Rugby's not very good anymore at least on Saturday afternoons, I went for around 6 hours recently and only saw 2 freights and 1 light engine movement!! :(

Yeah, I left at 12:20. Saw 074 near Lawley Street on the way out of New Street Station. :(

Does anyone know if this is running tommorrow and what time it will be at Abbotswood Junction?

Yes it is currently booked a 60 (probably can tell you later on which one).

Booked Ashchurch 13/00, Bromsgrove 13/35. Normally going like a good'un and has a tendency to run early as Saltley PSB will accept anything running early off the Gloucester PSB area which has a margin, even if it has to run Goods from the Green to Kings Norton.

60009 is a likely candidate as it worked 6E41 today and yesterday.
