Saturday 700s

Hi, on Saturday a couple of weeks ago I was passing through Brighton station when I saw a 700 running the 09:35 Bedford service. Does anyone know if that Saturday service is regularly booked for a 700, & if not, where/when 700s are scheduled to be running tomorrow (8/10), as now I've seen one in service, I'd quite like to sample one. Thanks

The 09:35 is indeed booked to be a 700, as is the 10:35.

There are a few other booked 700 services from Brighton in the early afternoon and during the evening.

Ah well I'd be coming back in the afternoon/early evening so southbound would be wanted then . Good to know that the 09:35 is a booked 700 - how reliable is it that one will turn up on that service? That one would be perfect for me if it is.
Although are there any booked 700s tomorrow for the Brighton-London Bridge (or vice versa) route? That'd be even better, to get a 700 and the new station in one go.

I haven't travelled on the 09:35, so I'm unsure of the probability of a 700 actually running on that service. To be honest, if it's diagrammed to work it (unless there's a problem with the unit/stock displacement), it should turn up.

Unfortunately, there aren't any 700s diagrammed for the Brighton-London Bridge services on a Saturday.

Which station will you be returning to Brighton from, and at what time?

Well, any of the main stations on the Brighton line from East Croydon down can be used to get a journey on one. Or St Pancras since I'll be coming back from King's Cross. Basically any 700 heading from London towards Brighton between 3pm & 5pm could be fitted in somewhere, somehow.

There is a 15:40 departure (1W41) from St Pancras (or, if you'd prefer, 16:19 from East Croydon) heading to Brighton, which a 700 is diagrammed to operate. This service should arrive at Brighton at 17:11.

If you're running late, there is also a 17:10 departure (1W47) from St Pancras (17:49 from East Croydon), scheduled to arrive at Brighton at 18:42.

I was out on Thameslink today to try a 700 (with thanks to this thread ) - there were a fair few out, probably passed five or six in addition to the one I got and all I did was a return from St Pancras to East Croydon (picking up the 0935 ex-Brighton).
