I'm trying to book tickets and reserve seats on the 10.45 Paddington to Cardiff for the Wales australia rugby match on Saturday 11th November
I can book tickets but I still can't make reservations on this train which will be fully loaded and standing.
Does anyone know when seat reservations/timetabling will be sorted.
I undrstand it may be due to work in the Bristol Parkway area.
Any info would be much appreciated.

It may be that because of the event, there will be no reservations available.
If any doubt suggest you ask GWR Twitter.

As yet Network Rail haven't fixed the possessions for that weekend and so GWR are unable to timetable the route. This is all related to the upgrade in the Bristol Parkway area I guess. We might possibly be on diversion via Gloucester.
I don't mind the diversion and fully understand the reasons - but I would like a booked seat!

Have just dug and found Bristol Parkway closed, trains calling at Patchway insteadand diverted via Bath as per arrangement this current fortnight. Obviously timings still to be confirmed so until then no reservations can be released.

Normally - yes it would be scheduled and sorted 12 weeks in advance, but I believe there are programming problems with the tracklaying, signalling and associated works with the installation of the third platform at Bristol Parkway.
I guess NR are rescheduling the works and are not yet in a position to timetable trains through Parkway.

That makes sense and ties in with my info.
Thank you Philipe, I'll keep checking but wouldn't expect anything to change until Friday.
