Sandite Train horn blasts

Hi, does anyone know the meaning of 2 and 3 horn blasts by a Sandite Train Driver and what colour light must be exhibited by when applying Sandite?

2 blasts is the signal to start applying (on passing the 2 stripe Sandite board)
3 blasts is the signal to stop applying (on passing the 3 stripe Sandite board)

I'm not sure of a colour to be exhibited when dropping Sandite.
