l will be going to this event as it is an end of a era. Plus during the late 1970's l would wait at the bus station for the service to Weymouth on a Friday night and then get the service back to Salisbury on a Sunday night. Why did l do this? My girlfriend lived in Weymouth and l worked in Salisbury. We have now been married for 33 years and a chance to see a bit of the past is good

Is Salisbury Bus Station still in Endless St?

I've never been, but seen it in timetables of old, and sometimes wondered if it referred to the length of the road or the wait for the bus!

Indeed, it is in Endless Street. Don't know the etymology of the name though

As an aside, Endless Holdings (who had an office in the same street) was one of the constituent parts of Drawlane (later British Bus). Only when they took over a dodgy independent (Oakfield Travel) did they actually have operations in their home city.

I first visited the bus station in 1991 and it will be sad to see it go.

But did look it up on Flickr and saw this photo from this year. http://www.flickr.com/photos/926226...Tye-ifUphw-ifTs7c-i4271V-7QTiMh-bpfbkT-ecNi3W

Are they still running the old Leyland Olympians on some services in the Salisbury area?? Surely not? If so, I'll have to get down there sometime soon to ride one again! Been about 7 years or so since I last had a ride on an Olympian!(back in the day when some were still on the service 70 in Bristol!)

According to UKBus this fleet list was up to date as of 17/12/2013 - Page 21 onwards.

It does make reference to Leyland and Volvo Olympians still in service, though only a few are based in the Salisbury area.
