Sailrail Routing

Afternoon all

I have Sailrail tickets booked for Tuesday from Bromley South to Dublin and have been given a printed itinerary of Bromley South to Victoria, tube to Euston then train to Holyhead.

Can anyone please confirm:

1. If there is a requirement to keep to trains on the itinerary between Bromley South and Euston (pretty sure there isn't).

2. If it is valid to use on FCC services through the Thameslink core to St Pancras (will walk from there to Euston) - probably the easiest route if the tube strike goes ahead.

Do you have sailrail advance or sailrail standby tickets, there is a difference in the rules for both.

What's the routing?

I'm pretty sure the usual '& Connections' rules will be intended to apply, however I suspect there isn't room in the routeing to specify that.

I would therefore argue that any train that is 'appropriate' would be acceptable. Obviously make sure you allow at least the minimum interchange time, but I'd allow a bit more, to be safe, especially if deviating from the 'suggested' route.

Only routing info is "+HLYHD IRISHF CIV" where the + is the Maltese cross.

Also states "BOOKEDTRAINONLY" under validity but I assume this is only trains with reservations?

I'm pretty sure that if there's a strike then you would be allowed to use any 'reasonable route'. That's the normal rule in case of disruption.

Just plugged Bromely South to Dublin via St Pancras into National Rail and it says to change at Herne Hill. It's a same-platform change and the wait is only a few minutes.... not entirely sure why it says to change there, so you could probably just stay on the train all the way.
