Safety equipment damaged in cab

I'm on the 1P92 from King's Cross to Peterborough, former of 2x 387. The driver has announced, before departure, that some "equipment is damaged in the cab; safety equipment" and therefore we won't be stopping at St Neots.

What piece of equipment could this be? I wondered if it was the outside cameras and the driver will be using platform monitors instead, but I don't know if St Neots still has these (I know Biggleswade and Stevenage does) - or perhaps they're not working as since the 365s have gone, nothing uses them.

Any ideas?

Platform monitors have been removed at St Neots.

The train has to stop at manned stations only (for dispatch by platform staff), but if there aren't any/aren't enough if a curved platform for example/aren't any trained in dispatch, then the train will run 'not to call' at the affected station.

Presumably it would've caused too much delay to be crossed over onto another line so the platform was on the other side, but perhaps it's the monitors rather than the cameras, as he did say it was equipment in the cab.

In the event that it were the platform curvature that was the issue rather than lack of staff, the train would have had to cross to the Down Fast just to make the call at St Neots. There were two late running Northbound LNER services that overtook this GTR service in the vicinity of St Neots, so crossing over to the fast, if it was even an option, would have added a further delay to two already late running services that are arguably more important to keep as close to time as possible than this GTR service was.

From memory the curvature at St Neots isn’t much at all, so from my non-expert point of view on this it seems unlikely that platform curvature would have been the issue here.
