The fact it says "I think you use it for..." almost certainly suggests it was stolen (to me anyway).

although i received an automated email telling me to report it to my local police who can then report to email, as were not 100% sure, i dont think we have enough evidence to report, maybe sending an email to network rail or someone of similar stature informing them of the item, and they will know if it requires police action

I have messaged the seller, if it is still on there tomorrow I will get it removed.

Don't report it as stolen goods, report it as a banned item, then it gets viewed by ebay rather than asking you contact the police.

Why should he care if it is safety critical? He is selling it for a bit of cash.

As Daniel says, it needs reporting to eBay, not to the police. It doesn't matter reason is given, if enough people report it, eBay will notice.

call me prejudiced, but his grasp of how to write in complete scentances or use correct grammar and spelling suggests he is the type of person that would steal something like this, not knowing what it is, just to try and get a bit of cash from it. I hope those of you that have reported this (unfortunately I don't have an account, so can't) have not been reporting in vein, and this guy gets whats coming to him.
Same as the many people on youtube who post videos that have obviously been filmed by trespassing, I flag them imediately.

As an aside, I've also seen police radios listed on ebay - most of the time they're spotted by coppers and reported very quickly. Ebay also seem to be very good at pulling those items in a short space of time.

Well, why wouldn't it be worth reporting to the BTP?

Highly likely that these are stolen goods, you can stay anonymous even if they get your phone number automatically you could use a phone box! (Its free!)

As soon as the Police use their inside links to report it it will be gone and the seller in probably in deep trouble!

Oh, and if the bid finishes the buyers could be in deep trouble for Handling Stolen Goods!

Has anyone considered that these could have been acquired from the liquidators of Fastline? Fastline would have had them quite legitimately. I've seen TPWS kit on e-bay before now....

Also, this handset is standard GSM-R kit and likely to be available elsewhere anyway.
