I would be shocked if all the glass on the units weren't covered in anti-etching film which should be easily replaced.

First S stock vandalism happened ages ago in Neasden depot.

Cannot answer that but the acid eats at the film/adhesive. Indeed it was hit at neasden but paint/pen is easily removed. Not acid etching!

That is the point. The film is designed to protect the glass from damage, it is not supposed to be damage proof. It is a relatively simple and quick task to remove the film and replace with another, more importantly it is a fraction of the cost of a new pane of glass.

Most suburban and local rail stock as well as a good % of bus fleets now have protective film on interior glass panes as a result of etching from sharp objects, acid etching is just the latest development.

Okay well I don't think you understand. Acid etching is mostly done with wire wool and acid. Wire wool breaks down the film with the aid of acid which then scratches the glass.

Simples.
