S Stock deliveries from Brum?

I noticed this morning at about 8:50am that a train carrying a unit in LU livery (presumably S stock) heading towards Water Orton from Saltley/Birmingham way. I saw it as it passed by the Fort shopping park but I was under the impression they were being made in Derby. Are some units being made in Birmingham too?

S Stock are manufactured at Derby only, the testing track from where deliveries to London are made is at Old Dalby.

21001/2 has been reported as being in passenger service today - probably has been in use albeit unreported anywhere for almost 2 weeks now as it was delivered a bit over 2½ weeks ago.

Thus finally completing the S8 introduction.

S8s are still returning to Derby. So far 2 have been completed, with 3 still away.
I think Peter meant the initial order has now been completed.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant.

With reports indicating that seven diagrams are running S7 daily on the H&C ( with another two diagrams approved ) the flood has well and truly started. Three C Stock went to Northwood today, three more to go in two weeks from now... Things are happening fast after a long hiatus.

Certainly by July, when its hoped to start scheduled Circle Line running.
