After i was updated to railworks 3 i was very happy with most of it. However while i like the much improved engine noise why is the class 166 so slow to accelerate? Had the same problem with the 450 however no other trains appear to be affected.

Could it be they have made them more realistic? That said, I struggle to get the 450 above 80 ish mph on the flat :/

Nope have seen both accelerating in real life and both are much quicker than that. Also as the 450 has a top speed of 100 that isnt very realistic.

I have noticed the 166 is very sluggish, same with the CIG, 455 & 450. Have you guys emailed the support address about this?

Regards,
Dave.

I've noticed that the 166 is sluggish at first, then when it reaches 10mph or so it goes like a rocket. The change in acceleration when the gear changes at 50mph is quite realistic though.

The 170 now seems to go like the brown stuff off a shovel! Seems to come at a price though as a double set derailed on starting the engines at Haymarket earlier (should have saved the scenario earlier but never mind) and yesterday the rear coach of a 3 car set detached itself on braking for Edinburgh Park!

The latter confused the hell out of me as I looked for the back of the train on stopping and all seemed fine...2 car showing didn't cause any alarm since some are. Then I looked again and saw a gangway... I recalled having a rear coach as I remember the tail lights on it passing Haymarket Depot and on looking back on the 2D map, it'd had been left behind a mile or so back towards Edinburgh! Good stuff is this Bombardier stuff.......:P

Railworks 2 used to work really well for me. Trainsimulator2012, on the other hand, is a bit of a disappointment.

I can accept that my computer isn't up to the TSX game engine. With that on I can see the brilliant graphics but the frame rate is very slow.

What I find unacceptable is that legacy mode, with TSX off, is not as good as RW2 was.
Jerky graphics, occasionally the landscape disappears completely for a second or so. Also some of my downloaded upgrades don't work - like the more realistic acceleration and modified cab view for the Class 101 DMU. They don't even appear in the installer window.

Perhaps an update will solve these problems.
