Rather than keep adding to Rugby Station thread , I thought I would start a new one for Rugby ROC.

Has anyone else noticed how little info is on the web re Rugby ROC compared with other new-build ones. Try googling" Rail operating centre " to see what I mean. There is article after article on Three Bridges and York and Basingstoke in particular. However , Network Rail this week admitted to its future existence in a press release re Stafford re-modelling, viz:-

http://www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/News-Releases/Second-phase-of-railway-upgrade-between-Stafford-and-Crewe-gets-underway-1f89.aspx

In the mean time , here's a pic took this morning from Platform 1 at Rugby.

The 'Rugby Station thread' was only ever really about the ROC anyway, it was just wrongly titled and that could have been edited. I wonder if this one will be diverted off onto loco stuff as well...

Surprised to find workmen on site today, being a Sunday.

Note all the ceiling lights blazing away, too.

Building now looking very ugly, hope all that concrete is prettified soon.

After seeing the plans for the ROC, it's going to be a lot different inside than I imagined! I also imagined a lot more workstations than the proposed amount

84 workstations if you include everyone, 26 of which are signalling, that's a hell of a lot of people on the operating floor.
