Hi, would anybody happen to know what discount is offered to safeguarded staff on the P&O line from Hull to Rotterdam?

I tried to use the website tonight to get a price but it is refusing to accept my Staff Travel Card number.

Thanks.

I take it you are trying to follow this:

4.2.1
P&O Ferries (Dover-Calais & Hull-Zeebrugge/Rotterdam)
Staff Travel Cards and TOC Privilege Cards issued to staff and their dependants are recognised
on services operated by P&O Ferries (Dover-Calais and Hull-Zeebrugge/Rotterdam).
A discount is available for travel on any of the Dover-Calais, Hull-Zeebrugge (new), and Hull-Rotterdam (new) routes. This discount will be given on the standard fares for any duration available through the P&O Ferries websitewww.poferries.com or the P&O Ferries call centre.
In addition, Travel on the Dover-Calais route as a Foot Passenger (without a vehicle) is free
except for the port taxes charged.
To take advantage of these special concessions you must purchase your ticket in advance. The
discounted fares are available to book on line through www.poferries.com/ATOC (when prompted for your Membership Number, enter the number of your current Staff Travel Card or TOC Priv Card)
the P&O Ferries Customer Services Team on 0871 6646464 or email RTS.supportgroup@poferries.com. Please note that telephone bookings attract an additional charge of approximately £5. The Port Tax tickets for travel as a Foot Passenger are not yet available to book on- line. For these simply ring P&O Ferries Customer Services Team on 0871 664 6464 –the usual telephone booking charge will not be applied to these bookings since they cannot be booked on line.
You can also use Form 90020. Please remember to present your Staff Travel Card/TOC Privilege Card and Photo Identity Card at the port when you check-in for travel. Failure to do so will result in being refused travel.

I would try using the call centre to ask why (or point out that) their system doesn't work, accept their offer to sell me a ticket - but definitely not pay the extra fee.

and demand that the same standard applies, if you have to.

Several years ago booking to take the car Dover - Calais with P&O my Staff Travel Card Number was not accepted on the website. It was dealt with over the phone. No need to "demand" anything. If I recall correctly the explanation I was given was that ATOC had not provided the Staff Travel Card numbers. I was booking just after the annual replacement had been issued.

Thanks for the advice.

I've booked to go to Netherlands by rail now. I normally go by Stena from Harwich, but it's full on the date I'm travelling. That's what got me thinking about the P&O route, but it would be a bit of a bind getting the family up to Hull from East Anglia in time on a Friday evening.

Out of interest does the Hull-Rotterdam actually dock in Rotterdam, or do they use a bit of license?

Rotterdam is Europoort, so almost opposite the Hook. And the connecting bus still leaves Centraal well before the ferry sails.
