A jcollins suggests, local papers are a surprisingly useful
source of 'gen' for that particular train!:)

A glance at the diary on the Palace website would have made this trip obvious some weeks ago.... ;)

If anyone wants to travel on a royal train, just head down to Kings Cross a few days before Christmas. Every year without fail there is always a story in the papers about the Queen travelling to Sandringham on a 365.

i would like to see her take a trip on a 142 :D

They didn't even put David Cameron on a 142 when he visited Newton Heath. They arranged a refurbished 156 for him.

I would have put him on a 142 and sent the train Piccadilly-Altrincham-Middlewich-Crewe-Stockport-Denton-Guide Bridge-Newton Heath to give him a proper Pacer experience including some 75mph running, some high pitched squealing and not giving the option to alight after 10 minutes. <D

:mad::mad: A few years back Lizzie and Phil were visiting Avonmouth and travelled down on the Royal Train overnight.

For "security reasons" ALL the morning trains on the Severn Beach line were cancelled! There had been little or no advance warning, people were turning up at stations to find they were being bustituted.

The local republican group did a roaring trade that day....

Yes, but always after the event, never before.
