Royal Train Class 67's

G'day,

Staying at my sister's house in South Wingfield tonight and I'm pretty certain that I saw the two Royal Train class 67's hauing a Serco test train. Can anyone confirm this? Ran through sometime between 20.00 and 21.00.

Just a note but Serco haven't been involved in test trains for quite a while now. They're all Network Rail but hauled by various FOC vehicles.

Ooops In that case yellow Network Rail stock hauled top and tailed by two class 67's that looked suspiciously like the Royal Train loco's!

I understand a pair of 67s matching that description were indeed on an NR train at the time you mention. Assuming you mean South Wingfield in Derbyshire, I think this may well be the working you mention.

67005 & 006 were attached to a test train when I passed Derby yesterday afternoon.

Just a note but Serco haven't been involved in test trains for quite a while now. They're all Network Rail but hauled by various FOC vehicles.

Although hauled by many FOC locos, its DBS crews. DRS hire 37s to DBS to work most NR test trains, with some DBS 67s and NR 31s, 57s, 73s and 97s used to haul test trains

Whilst crossing the line between Shirland and Ogston Hall yesterday morning at 09.56, I saw a test train approaching with a Class 67 at both front and rear. I managed a photo which I have yet to take off camera, if you are interested I can send.

I spotted the royal train 67005 at Peak forest a few weeks back and I saw 67026 Diamond jubilee today at New mills south junction also heading towards Peak Forest.
