Why do you ask?

Yeah, it's pretty normal. Something to do with the shutters not being locked (they don't need to be) if I recall correctly

So normal that it used be a rule book instruction to disregard the blue lights if you passed a 325 with them lit up.

Comes up every few months. They detect motion inside the vans, to be disregarded.

They have always been prone to running around with the blue lights lit but it is much more noticeable on the units that have been refurbished and fitted with LED lights. Been told that the motion detectors are so sensitive that a sweet wrapper swirling around inside is enough to set them off!

If the motion detectors are too sensitive and it doesn't matter if the lights are either on or off then why are they even installed? (And had money spent on upgrading to LED lights?)

That thought did cross my mind as well when I glanced out of the window at a passing 325 just after the first refurbished one was returned to service and was greeted by a retina-searing blue glow on one of the units.

I would guess that while they're not relevant when the train is running, they have some purpose during loading.

At one time I wondered if it was an indicator to platform staff as to which vehicles were empty or full, take your pick, for loading purposes.

Given that often half a train is showing blue lights I did wonder about all that fresh air being carried about!
