I'm just looking at the permitted routes for Wrexham General - Hull. I preferably want to travel back from Hull with the following route:

Hull - Doncaster - Leeds - Manchester Picadilly - Chester - Wrexham General

Now I'm completely lost as to whether this is permitted or not. Could someone take a look at the routing guide and tell me either way, I've got myself lost in all the maps.

Thanks Karl

Asside from why you would want to travel via Doncaster to Leeds from Hull (That takes twice as long!) I don't beleive it's a valid route, although Hull - Doncaster - Sheffeild - Hope Valley - Manchester is...

I actually want to break my journey in Doncaster (Forgot to mention that) I've looked through the routing guide, and have looked over all the mapped routes and as has been said above it only seems to be valid if I continue on towards Sheffield from Doncaster.

Oh well it was worth a shot.

If you're going via Doncaster it's just as fast via Sheffeild as it is via Leeds, with a break of journey it's a little bit longer.

Hull - Doncaster - Leeds - Manchester Piccadilly - Chester - Wrexham General
You can certainly pass through all those stations in that order, but you need to take a rather roundabout route to do so. For example, one of the 30! permitted map combinations is CE+NL+CL. This allows:

CE: Hull - Goole - Doncaster - (Selby or Hambleton South Jn) - York - (Harrogate or Garforth) - Leeds - Wakefield - (Barnsley or Swinton, see Note) - Meadowhall - Sheffield.
NL: Sheffield - Chinley - (Guide Bridge or Reddish North or Heaton Chapel or Styal) - Manchester.
CL: Manchester - Earlestown - Warrington - Runcorn East - (Hooton or Helsby) - Chester - Wrexham.

Other permitted map combinations may give more suitable routes for you.

Note: There is an error in map CE. The direct line between Wakefield and Meadowhall, avoiding both Barnsley and Swinton, closed to passengers in 1968 and for all traffic in 1988.
