Just a quick one to run by everyone.

Wrexham General - Stoke On Trent Anytime Day Return with railcard £9.90

I know it's valid via Crewe, however is it also valid via Liverpool?

Looking at the routing guide I need maps CH + EM both which have Liverpool and Hunts Cross as routing points.

Not sure if I've read it right though.

EDIT

I'm more convinced now that National rail inquiries gives it me when ask for via liverpool.

You can NOT go through Liverpool because Bidston (which you have to pass through) fails the fare check (it is more expensive to go Bidston - Stoke than Wrexham - Stoke therefore not valid)

Edit the second.

I see no problem (not checked the easements though)

Why do I have to pass through Bidston? I can go via Chester?

that doesnt sound right.

both Wrexham General & Stoke On Trent are routeing points, no fares check required.

You are misunderstanding the Fares Check Rule there gnolife.

Both Wrexham General (Wrexham Group) and Stoke-on-Trent are routeing points, so no fares check is required.

Fares checks need only be carried out when the origin and/or destination station are not routeing points.

I had a quick look, the only easements involving Wrexham were permissive easements.

I believe travel via Liverpool is allowed.

Wrexham and Stoke are routeing points, there is no fares check to make.

Only maps EM+CH can be used.

Stoke-Liverpool-Wrexham is a mapped route.

I don't know of an easement to stop it either.

Why is there a need for the Fares Check? As mentioned above by b0b both Wrexham General & Stoke On Trent are routeing points :?

Aye, its been a while since I read the instructions, so I'd forgotten that :(
