Hi guys, I am planning to make use of the great escape offer next Wednesday (25th) by travelling from Liverpool S Pway to london euston and returning the same day. It was surprisingly easy to plan the route there changing at stafford arriving at 12:50...great :D. The problem however is coming back, I cant use the ticket until after 19:00 but the last train I can manage to find back to Liverpool is 18:49  Any ideas on what I could do? Will the guard perhaps let me off with 10 mins? Thanks

Hmm, normally there is a connection at New Street off the 2120 arrival (1913 ex-Euston), onto the 2136, but the train is retimed to 2127 that day and routed via Perry Barr Jns, so no longer an official connection.

Perhaps try asking LM twitter if they would allow that connection to be official, or alternatively make an easement on the 1849.

Officially the ticket isn't valid. You could look into buying a London to Milton Keynes Central ticket - this would take you past 19.00

Last time I wanted to go south from Parkway it was quicker to go via Warrington and Crewe rather than wait for the next LM.

So I tweeted LM but wont get an answer until tomorrow, I was looking at doing it without paying for extra tickets. It seems a bit silly of LM to assume no one will be travelling north of Birmingham or Crewe.

From what I can see that is the WTT path, the train seems to be permanently like that weekdays!

I am disappointed by the lack of service north of Crewe, so many people* turn up in the early evenings expecting trains to go back that far north and there aren't any!

*It's only been 5 or 6 in the time I've been serving, but I'm guessing there are many more!

Hopefully they can make the easement for you :)

London midland got back to me saying that the only service I could travel on is the 16:46 Euston-Crewe, I think that's my only option. a bit disappointing really :| but thanks for your help guys
