I spotted a Routemaster on the No. 15 service to Trafalgar Sq on Tuesday afternoon.

I thought they had all gone ?

This one was definitely in service and carrying punters !

A few of the Marshall refurbished examples which gained new low emission engines, new transmissions and interiors latterly working on the 13 were kept by TfL for use on short workings of routes 9 and 15 in central London mainly for the benefit of tourists. First operate them on the 9 and East London Buses operate them on the 15.

Normal fares and travelcards apply

Routmasters have been operating on these heritage routes since 2005, I believe, since they were last in service on the 159.

Correct. They never went away. There's quite a few been acquired by firms for special events suuch as weddings, etc so it is not unusual to see them.

I don't know about London, but they were definitely running on Edinburgh's Mac tours last time I was there!

Yes, they're still currently running them.

I've heard rumours that they may be replaced soon, but I have my doubts about this because one of their main selling points is that they use OT Routemasters.
